MorningStar Church is called to declare and demonstrate the Kingdom of God in the greater Rochester area. We are committed to evangelism and  equipping Christians to fulfill their callings in all spheres of society. We are committted to preparing and sending forth laborers both in church planting ventures and missionary work. MorningStar Church is commissioned to impact our culture through the application of Biblical principals of life at all levels- individually, congregatioinally, community-wide, nationally and abroad.
 
CORE VALUES:  The basic values we hold as essential to church life are:
     1. a commitment to honesty and intergity
     2. doing nothing to manipulate /control others
     3. living a separated lifestyle
     4. a commitment to openess and truthfulness in our
         personal relationsnhips
 
PRIORITY LIST:  As an outworking of our Vision and Values, our Priorities ( to which we give our time, energy and money) are:
     1. Worship/Word- John 4:23, II Timothy 3:16
         The worship of God in Spirit and truth are
          the implementation of Biblical truth in our daily living.
     2. Fellowship- I John 3:16
         Learning to relate to each other in a committed way and
        be built together as the body of Christ. This personalized
        ministry is best accomplished in a small group setting.
     3. Training- Matthew 28:35,36
         Equip christians for the work of ministry, which includes
         functioning within Church life, establishment in their
         vocational callings and outreach. Provide the teaching and
         environment for the raising up of disciples trained in a
         Scriptural world view.
     4. Ministry to Others- Matthew 9:35,36
         Based on the compassion and mercy of God to reach out
         to the poor, sick, widows, prisoners, etc.
     5. Evangelism- Matthew 5:14,15
         Present the Gospel of the Kindgom to the lost, while
        developing an evangelistic lifestyle.
     6. Reform- Matt 5:13
         Salt  society with righteousness according to God's
         pattern and affect public policy with prophetic truth and
        involvement.
     7. Sending- Acts 13:1-3
         In response to the Great Commission, laborers will be
         sent into the harvest both in the United States and
         abroad.
    

Tenets of Faith
 
1. We believe the Bible to be the inspired, the only infallible, authoritative Word of God.
2. We believe in the triune Godhead as eternally existent in three Persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
3. We believe in the deity of Christ, in His virgin birth, in His sinless life, in His miracles, in His vicarious and atoning death through His shed blood, in His bodily resurrection, in His ascension to the right hand of the Father, and in His present priestly ministry.
4. We believe that for  the salvation of lost and sinful man, regeneration by the Holy Spirit is absolutely essential. We further believe in the keeping power of God.
5. We believe in the sanctification and holiness of heart and the overcoming life as God's design for the Church, which is the Bride of Christ.
6. We believe in the Baptism of the Holy Spirit, as on the day of Pentecost, and in the continuing ministry of the Holy Spirit in charismatic gifts and ministries. We also believe it is essential for the development of godly fruit ( the character of Christ) in the life of the believer.
7. We believe that divine healing is obtained on the basis of the Atonement.
8. We believe in Christ's imminent, personal return in power and great glory, and in His present and everlasting Kingdom.
9. We  believe in the resurrection of both the saved and the lost; those that  are saved unto everlasting life and they that are lost unto eternal punishment.
